We also hope that by visiting with us you will be motivated to send us a donation to insure that we can continue this fine Marblehead Tradition. Dear Marbleheader, I am appealing to you to consider making your donation to the town’s Fireworks Fund now. I get a report every week from Pat Cerrutti in the Selectman’s Office and I’m sorry to say that the donations are slightly behind where we need to be, and where we usually are at this time of the year. The Census response was fairly good and the response from the Mooring Holders has been OK, but really just OK. It seems that many of you have, for one reason or another, put off making your donations. We all have good intentions, but sometimes we simply forget to do what we had intended to do until later. In this case, later is here and if you do or did intend to make a donation, now would be a great time to send in your check. I know it’s still Winter and July 4th seems like something that is way off in the distance. But in reality it is only 15 weeks or so away. Believe me those weeks will fly by and before you know it you will be planning your 4th of July parties around the Fireworks Display & Harbor Illumination. Your Committee hopes that you will find a good spot to watch from and that you will consider your donation as the price of admission. The best part is that you get to decide what you think your ticket is worth! In round dollars it costs about $60,000.00 for the Harbor Illumination and Fireworks Display and at the moment we are about $20,000.00 short.
